On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the OSE l’ISAE-SUPAERO equal opportunities program held a disability awareness day on the CREPS campus in Toulouse and on the ISAE-SUPAERO campus.<\/p>\n

After being divided into groups, they attended 3 different workshops, including introductory activities in cecifoot (blind soccer), para-handball, goal ball, torball and handi-athletics. The students took part in the day-long event held on the ISAE-SUPAERO campus from 9am to 3pm.<\/p>\n They then benefited from a 2-hour tutoring session at the Institute with 3 student tutors: in dedicated rooms and lecture halls on campus, the students were able to take advantage of this setting to work on math, physics, SVT or finalize their Parcoursup applications.<\/p>\n The day ended with a trip to the cinema and a restaurant, to bring the day to a close for all concerned: students, supervisors and tutors. They attended a public screening of the Polish film “The Girl and the Peasants”. It enabled me to discover new things in the world of handisport, which I’m sure will come in handy in the future. I enjoyed meeting and talking to a top-level athlete. Raising young people’s awareness of this is more than beneficial, as it’s a subject that’s not sufficiently open today.<\/em> “<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n ” A positive day, full of discoveries for students and teachers alike. It was important to see the students in a different context, to discover them and see them build new relationships.<\/em><\/p>\n The tutoring session outside the school was greatly appreciated, as the day’s lessons could be caught up in the lecture hall, with students and teachers present. We (the teachers) are surprised and impressed by the energy students put into their homework during tutoring.<\/em><\/p>\n We wanted to organize this day to bring together all levels (Seconde, Premi\u00e8re, Terminale), outside high school, around a subject unknown to all. I would like to thank the students and pupils for their commitment.<\/em> “<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n ” this day focused on sport and disability taught me about sports I didn’t know about in a fun and cheerful way with the tutoring students. In particular, I admired the strength of these sportsmen and women who have managed to get back on their feet, determined to “make it” by surpassing their limits, both mental and physical, while moving towards acceptance of their disability.
