CEREMONY OPENING BY Marie-Hélène Baroux

“This year, we’re facing a special situation, as our engineering curriculum has evolved in the first year, resulting in a transition year for international mobility, generating an increase of over 120% in requests. Against this backdrop, it is thanks to the generosity of all individuals, alumni, parents of students, enthusiasts and patrons of the Foundation that we have been able to distribute over €194,000 in the various categories […] which will be awarded to a total of 85 beneficiaries this evening, which represents double last year’s total. A great burst of ” Feel Good ” this year, because all this commitment is in support of our values and full of promise.

85 BENEFICIARIES FOR

9 SUPPORT CATEGORIES

This exceptional mobilization for the 2026 edition reflects a particularly strong dynamic. Each support represents a concrete opportunity:

International conferences

Every international conference is a unique opportunity for ISAE-SUPAERO to shine on the world stage. Whether by organizing events on our campus or supporting our students and teacher-researchers to take part, we highlight the excellence of our institute. These meetings are much more than scientific exchanges: they are showcases of our know-how, where our talents shine and our expertise shines. This year, a dozen students, PhD students and teacher-researchers will take part in 5 conferences:

  • Louison BOCQUET-NOUAILLE atEVAN 2026 (Delft, Netherlands)
  • Miguel CHARLOTTE and students at theAIAA (London, UK)
  • Alessandro PASSARELLI atESA GNC (Seville, Spain)
  • Emmanuel Zenou, Scott Delbecq and 3 students at PEGASUS 2026 (Valencia, Spain)
  • 3 students selected by Stéphanie LIZY-DESTREZ atIAC 2026 (Antalya, Turkey)

Hosting a foreign teacher

Granted at the request of Naomi Murdoch, planetary scientist and researcher in the DEOS Department at ISAE-SUPAERO, this support will enable Richard BINZEL to be welcomed in March 2026. Professor of planetary sciences at MIT, Mr. BINZEL is a world-renowned leader in the study of asteroids, with publications spanning six decades. He is also the inventor of the Turin Scale, a method for categorizing the impact risk associated with asteroids and comets. During his stay, he will provide insights into the world’s first asteroid seismometer (Seismic Instrument for Asteroids, SIA), currently under development here within the SSPA team at ISAE-SUPAERO.

Finally, he will also give a public lecture for Institute staff and students on planetary defense and the Apophis asteroid.

    Welcoming foreign students

These excellence scholarships, inspired by the great Anglo-Saxon models, are an additional lever for ISAE-SUAPERO to attract the best talent from all over the world. These scholarships cover the tuition fees for 2 years of each recipient’s course, and offer a living allowance, enabling international students to join our engineering or MAE programs. Two winnerswere honored, having arrived on campus in September 2025: Fritz Anne Jane CARPENTERO & Renaud NSIEPING FEZEU.

    • Romain RUTAR, for his mobility at the University of Bristol in the UK and a co-tutored thesis.

    • Elena LOPEZ-CONTRERAS, for her research mobility at the Indian Institute of Science in Bengalore.

    PRIX DE THESE 2026

In January 2026, we will be awarding the 2025 thesis prizes to 5 winners. This year, we are renewing our support, with 4 to 5 doctoral students defending their thesis this year being awarded this prize on the basis of two criteria: the scientific excellence of their thesis work, and the prospects for application of the research carried out. It’s a way of honouring the quality of research at the Institute.

Student Social Opening & Equal Opportunity

The ISAE-SUPAERO Foundation is deeply committed tosocial inclusion, equal opportunity and support for the most vulnerable students. In addition to the Fonds de Solidarité Étudiant (Student Solidarity Fund), it actively supports the OSE and OSE inGÉ programs , initiatives dedicated to inclusion, academic support and access to higher education for young people from less privileged backgrounds, in collèges, lycées and classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles.

Thanks to earmarked donations from our generous donors and sponsors, the Foundation is able to support these programs, which enable students to achieve their full potential in their studies and benefit from personalized support provided by 200 volunteer students and alumni.

At the 2026 Awards Evening, we were delighted to highlight this dynamic by inviting Marie CASAUX, OSE project manager, and Joël DASTE, founder of OSE, to highlight the importance of these actions and thank all the donors who make them possible.
