On the occasion of the ISAE-SUPAERO Open Day, the Foundation and the School unveiled a new name plaque on Saturday, October 12. In recognition of his commitment, we wished to thank Christian Dedieu (E 1975) for his generous donation , which will help support the policy of encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship that is helping to position ISAE-SUPAERO as an innovation leader in Aeronautics, Space and Defense.

A SYMBOLIC TRIBUTE

Surrounded by his son and alumni friends, Christian Dedieu discovered his plaque at the entrance to room 85.109 of the Aérothèque at ISAE-SUPAERO, the Institute’s emblematic building. Through this donation and naming, he wished to honor the memory of his parents Daniel DEDIEU (1925-1994) and his wife Denise LEVRIER (1926-2023), who accompanied him on his path to a top engineering school and supported him throughout his training at ENICA (1972-1975), then at Stanford (1975-76).

Christian Dedieu chose the Aérothèque Marie Marvingt as the latest building on the ISAE-SUPAERO campus, symbolizing the completion of the merger between ENSICA and Sup’Aéro, by bringing together the largest aerospace documentary collection in France and the knowledge accumulated over the years in the libraries of these two schools.

Marie-Hélène BAROUX, General Manager of ISAE-SUPAERO :

I’m delighted to see you again to celebrate this magnificent donation, which encourages our policy of innovation, since it will in particular help support the Problem Solver project set up last year to teach our young first-year students to dive into entrepreneurship, to find solutions and innovative approaches. Donations from our patrons play a very important role for the School. I’d like to thank the Foundation for making this process more dynamic. (…) I know that you are very attached to the School and I would like to thank you warmly for this donation, which also has a strong symbolic value. .”

Agnès TRINCAL, Director of the ISAE-SUPAERO Foundation :

As a Foundation, we are extremely pleased that you have chosen to display this support, and we are happy, thanks to the School, to offer you this recognition, since it is also a way of showing the exemplarity of your support to students and alumni: there is a transmission that takes place and we are in a position to pay tribute to and value this act.
Thank you for your support as you are more than ever a player in the transformation that the Foundation wishes to achieve with the School.”

Christian DEDIEU (E 1975) :

After 40 years in the aerospace and defense industry, and with the 50th anniversary of our graduating class just around the corner, I felt it was a good time to return the favor by supporting ISAE-SUPAERO. My involvement with the alumni association at the time of the ENSICA-SUPAERO merger enabled me to frequent this campus, which I had only known as the rival grande école to which we came to compete on the rugby fields. I was able to discover what had become of the school, a world leader in aeronautical engineering education. At a time of profound transformation in our economic and environmental environment, the institute is renewing itself and adapting to these changes with verve. I thought it would be particularly useful to support the work being done here, especially in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation.

With this donation, Christian Dedieu became a member of the Friends of the Hélène Boucher Circle.
