What are they up to? #2
Published on
The Foundation works to propose and accelerate innovative projects that contribute to a more sustainable world, in line with ISAE-SUPAERO’s strategy.
Each year, it supports students and young graduates through a variety of schemes: entrepreneurial seed grants, Jeunes Pousses Entrepreneuriat grants supported by Jean L. Lamy, and an Entrepreneurship Prize.
Back in 2023:
- In February 2023, the project selection committee chose to support the Héliosphère entrepreneurial project led by Bastien Fabre (S 2023) and Nicolas Bourlisatoux (S 2023). They were awarded an Entrepreneurship grant from the Foundation for the Heliosphère project, which became Iris Lab. The aim of this project was to develop and market a wireless power transmission solution for the continuous supply of autonomous systems.
- In May 2023, the Bourses Jeunes Pousses Entrepreneuriat designated 3 winners, including Alexandre Girard (S 2019), the bearer of the Orus Energy project with the ambition to imagine the future of energy by taking advantage of the flexibility of the electricity grid.
What about today?
Iris Lab: a fully loaded entrepreneurial project:
1 year on, where does Iris Lab stand? Since 2023 the project has made good progress:
Bastien and his partner Nicolas kick off 2024 with the official launch of their startup: the Heliosphere project gives way to IRIS LAB.
They also announced their membership of the La French Tech Paris-Saclay community.
In March, IRIS LAB joined the next Entrepreneur First S24 cohort as well as the 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲 & 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 support program of the prestigious Parisian incubator Agoranov.
The startup has also been selected as one of the “100 startups to invest in 2024” by Challenges magazine.
A first fundraising round of 2 million euros is on the horizon for 2025, to enable them to expand their team and assert their place in the market!
Orus Energy imagines the future of electricity consumption!
Orus Energy is today a data/IA platform for electrical flexibility for commercial building managers, enabling them to reduce the load on the electrical grid during peak hours and cut their electricity bills by up to 10%.
Last April, Orus Energy won the “Energy Flexibility in Buildings” challenge at the TechSprint 2024 challenge. Considered a “Jeune Pousse” (young start-up), it will benefit from an endowment of 100,000 euros to continue its growth and development.
A few days ago, Alexandre and his partners announced the completion of their first round of financing: 2.2 million euros to enable a flexible and resilient energy system.
